Getting Started with WP Technical Site Auditor

Welcome to WP Technical Site Auditor

This guide will help you set up the plugin and run your first scan.

Step 1: Installation

From WordPress.org (Free)

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New
  3. Search for "WP Technical Site Auditor"
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate
  5. Find the plugin under Technical Auditor in your admin menu

Premium Version

  1. Purchase a license at pihlfelt.se
  2. Download the premium plugin ZIP file
  3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
  4. Select the ZIP file and click Install Now
  5. Activate the plugin
  6. Go to Technical Auditor > License and enter your license key

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.8 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher (PHP 8.1+ recommended)
  • MySQL 5.7 or higher
  • At least 256MB PHP memory limit

Step 2: Review Settings

Before scanning, review the default settings:

  1. Go to Technical Auditor > Settings
  2. Review threshold values (most defaults are fine)
  3. Check integration settings
  4. Save if you made changes

Step 3: Run Your First Scan

  1. Go to Technical Auditor > Dashboard
  2. Click Start Scan
  3. Wait for the scan to complete (time varies by site size)

Step 4: Review Results

After scanning:

  1. Note the summary cards (Critical, Warning, Notice)
  2. Address Critical issues first
  3. Click any issue to see details and fix instructions

Step 5: Take Action

  • Follow fix instructions for manual fixes
  • Use Auto-Fix buttons for one-click solutions (Premium)
  • Ignore issues that do not apply to your site
  • Re-scan after making changes
